Collection : chiefly of William Faulkner manuscripts and proofs, 1927-1972.

The collection contains various copies of manuscripts, setting copies, proofs and design materials related to the Random House publication of Faulkner's As I lay dying, Essays speeches and public letters by William Faulkner, Faulkner at West Point, Faulkner in the University, The Faulkner reader, Flags in the dust, The hamlet, The marble faun, A green bough, Sanctuary, Selected short stories of William Faulkner, and The wishing tree. There is also a 1965 Faulkner souvenir edition of the Oxford Eagle. In addition there is publication material for Set this house on fire by William Styron, Shadows on the grass by Isak Dinesen, and Ulysses by James Joyce.

James Augustus Aloysius Joyce was born on February 2, 1882, in Rathgar, a borough of Dublin, Ireland, the eldest of ten children who survived infancy.
